Sojourn No. 3
Christians live this first life as sojourning foreigners, living in the world but not a part of it. They have faith and confidence that their unearned salvation has been paid for by the finished work of Christ, in the very same manner that Abraham by faith believed that God would save him. Once these sojourners have obeyed God’s call by placing their faith in Christ, nothing can separate them from the love of God, though they may stumble and struggle. They are made righteous not by any special qualities in themselves, but entirely by God’s grace and favor, given to them through the shed blood of their Savior and Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ.
